In 1998, aged 31, Gordon opened his first wholly owned restaurant, Gordon Ramsay's Restaurant, in Chelsea. It combines an intimate atmosphere with exquisite French cuisine. By 2001, the restaurant had earned three Michelin stars, which the establishment still retains today.
 
In 2007, Clare Smyth MBE, was named Patron Chef, becoming the only female chef in the UK to receive a three Michelin star award. In 2015, Matt Abé was named Chef de Cuisine leading the team. In 2020 he was promoted to Chef Patron. Matt upholds the history and reputation of the restaurant by maintaining the constant pursuit of perfection.
